GivingTuesday

. . . is the international day of giving and service that falls annually on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, immediately after Black Friday and Cyber Monday.  The day serves as a reminder that even during crazy holiday sales and dashes, the causes we support continue to need our help, and that the act of generosity is itself, a gift.

At Sound Foundations NW, we’ve been in awe of the generosity of our volunteers and donors since we began more than 5-1/2 years ago.  Collectively, that generosity has resulted in more than $1.8M worth of donations and over 72,000 volunteer hours to build more than 420 tiny homes, and counting.  We couldn’t be more grateful!

 

VOLUNTEER HOMECOMING!

We’re all about the joy of having a home, no matter the size, so on GivingTuesday, November 28, we’re hosting a Volunteer Homecoming and we would love your help!  Have you built with us before but not for a while?  Have you been curious for a while but never helped build a tiny home?  On this open build day, we’re especially encouraging past and curious volunteers to sign up, individually or with a friend or two, to come make a difference by helping build tiny homes for our homeless neighbors.  No experience necessary – we train willing hearts!  Fill out our form at right to sign up, and don’t forget to scroll to the bottom of the form and click the blue button to submit.  Space is limited to 20 volunteers.  Come see what it feels like to build community!

Able to contribute more than time?  We also use donations in any amount to enable us to continue purchasing building materials as we build our way toward tiny home #500 early next year!  Our goal for GivingTuesday is the cost of five new tiny homes, or $22,500, to keep even more of our homeless neighbors #warmsafeanddry.
