- As an organization, Sound Foundations NW comes together for a common goal: to provide transitional housing for our neighbors experiencing homelessness. We are a diverse community of staff and volunteers dedicated to this cause. We are not only committed to our cause but respectful of each other and our differences as well as our commonalities. Our organization has a zero tolerance for harassment of any kind based on age, sex, gender and gender identification, race, religion, sexual orientation, or anything else that one might consider “different”. If you engage in harassment of any kind, you will not be welcome in our organization. When we are inclusive, we not only help our homeless neighbors get to a better place, each one of us gets to be in a better place as well. And, we have the honor to live our logo – to “build community.”
- No experience necessary. We train willing hearts.
- DIRECTIONS FROM THE NORTH: Take Hwy 99 South. Once you pass the stadiums, Hwy 99 also becomes East Marginal Way. Just past the West Seattle Bridge exit, the road descends to ground level again. Now turn right at the first available right turn — look for Grand Central Bakery ahead on your right and turn right here. That street is S. Nevada St. Take that road one long block. We are in the gray warehouse on the left side at the end. Look for the “5 S. Nevada St.” sign near the big roll-up door, a dumpster out front, and a Hope Factory sandwich board sign out front.
- FROM THE SOUTH: Take Hwy 509 over the First Ave. S. Bridge. The road angles left and becomes East Marginal Way. Turn left at the fifth stop light onto S. Idaho St. You will see Ducky’s Office Furniture on the left. Once you turn left, turn immediately right in front of Ducky’s, and go past Grand Central Bakery. S. Nevada St. is the cross street from Grand Central Bakery on East Marginal Way. Turn left. Take that road one long block. We are in the gray warehouse on the left side at the end. Look for the “5 S. Nevada St.” sign near the big roll-up door, a dumpster out front, and a Hope Factory sandwich board sign out front.
- FROM I-5: Take I-90 West past I-5. Turn left and head south on 1st Ave. near the stadiums. Take 1st Ave. South and turn right onto S. Hudson St. Turn right again at the light at East Marginal Way. At the third stop light, turn left on S.
Free parking in front of the warehouse. If you’re in the first group to arrive, please pull forward all the way. If you arrive later and need to park behind someone blocking them in, please grab an index card from inside, add your first name, and place it on your dash so other volunteers can find you if they need to leave before you.
