KCRHA FINALIZES BUDGET
The Implementation Board met this week to finalize KCRHA’s 2024 budget. Included in the $250 million plan (Page 29) is one more village located in Tukwila. Here is a link to the budget.

This week we highlight the success rate of permanent housing from a tiny home vs. a shelter.

MATCHED FUNDING
Since we’ve become a 501c3, we have been reaching out to businesses and organizations to receive matched funding and grants. So far Boeing, Microsoft, Weyerhaeuser, and GoDaddy.com have responded favorably to our requests. Today we also learned that the Disney Corporation will now match volunteer hours and possibly grants as well.
Last year, we celebrated the fact that we have now donated over $1 million worth of tiny homes. It took us four years to raise the funds for those homes. This year we anticipate building 200 homes. At $4300 per home in materials costs (assuming that materials costs do not rise), that comes out to $860,000.
We are doing OK financially speaking, but we can always use more funding. More funding helps us do a lot more long range planning. With a strong financial base, it also makes it easier to reach out to other agencies, state and local government funding, and private entities. In other words, “Success breeds success.”
If you know of an organization that would like to help us with matching funds or in any other way, please contact Barb at SoundFoundationsNW@gmail.com. Thanks so much for all you do!
